where are ginkgo trees found in India

Ginkgo biloba is an ancient tree native to China.  However,  Ginko species were once common in Asia, North America  and  Europe,  faced  extinction during  Ice  Age  and  survived  with restricted  natural  distribution  as  a  single surviving  species . Currently,  this  tree  species  occurs  wild only  in  China.   Today,  Ginkgo biloba  can  be  found  in almost  every country  across  the world.  In the central Himalayan  mountains of  Kashmir, this  tree  species  has  been  reported  at  an elevation  of  6000  ft.Individuals  of  this  species  are growing  also  in  Uttarakhand (Dehradun,  Nainital,  Mussoorie  and Ranikhet),  Himachal  Pradesh  (Kalpa, Manali  and  Shimla),  West  Bengal (Darjeeling  and  Kalimpong),  Punjab (Patiala)  and  Meghalaya  (Shillong).
