Banafasha plant |
Violet is a small, delicate and evergreen plant in spring. Whose leaves are dark green in color and heart shaped. Its branches are thin, delicate and crooked. Its flower is called Gul-e-Banafasha. The stalk of this flower is two and a half inches long, on which is a half-inch fragrant flower with five petals, a reddish blue. But some have white flowers too. There are also hairs on the stem.
The violet plant is originally native to Asia and parts of Europe. Kashmir is grown in Nepal and Western Himalaya at an altitude of more than five thousand feet, but now it is cultivated all over the world. It is widely grown in France and to a lesser extent in Italy and China for perfumery.
Its plant is generally produced in summer. And it is difficult to identify this plant in the rainy season. In winters the leaves become less. The fruits fall off while it flowers in the month of April and is collected in this season. If the flowers are chewed, then some fragrant saliva comes out. There are more than 200 varieties of banana fish. The major cultivars that are cultivated for their fragrance include Parma and Victoria.
